COPING WITH CANDIDA

How does Pau d’Arco help?

There are many herbs used to combat Yeast problems, but few are as effective as Pau d'Arco (also known as Lapacho). The indigenous peoples of South America have used infusions from the bark of this rainforest giant for centuries, to cope with a range of infections and parasites. One local term for the herb is ‘Tajy’ – which means ‘to have strength and vigour.’ Modern Brazilians call it the ‘Tree of Life’ - and scientific research has demonstrated the herbs benefit for treating a number of infections and diseases. It has been shown, in clinical studies, to be effective against 11 strains of Yeast and fungus - including Candida Albicans.

As Pau d’Arco does its job, it can often cause what is usually described as a ‘foggy head feeling.’ This is because the dead Yeast’s must be flushed out of the system. As well as drinking plenty of water – at least two litres per day, it is sometimes advisable to use a liver support herbal supplement. Using liver support herbs at this time can help with energy levels and make the process more comfortable.

Sustainability

Rio Pau d’Arco is prepared using only certified inner bark from the ‘cambium’ layer of these magnificent rainforest hardwood trees. This process is entirely sustainable and the bark can be ‘harvested’ causing no permanent damage to the tree.

Rio quality

Rio Pau d’Arco vegicaps are prepared using a water-soluble extract and have been specially formulated for the treatment of fungal infections such as Candida. Each capsule contains 2500mg of herb in a 5:1 concentration – making Rio Pau d’Arco capsules the most potent currently on the market.

Suggested dose

We recommend a course of capsules, 2 capsules three times daily, until the Candida is under control. Following this, regular consumption of the tea or capsules reduces the risk of re-infection. Start with two per day, and gradually increase the dose.

Pau d’Arco is also available in an Elixir, loose tea and supplement strength teabags. Rio Pau d’Arco tea is recommended for those with digestive complications as it gives ready absorption.

Pau d’Arco can be bought directly from the rainforest herbal specialists Rio Health www.riohealth.co.uk
